Growing Your Own Food is More Important Than Ever
With all the supply chain disruptions, you know it’s a matter of when food prices go up, not if. Crops take time to mature, so the sooner you start growing, the sooner you can harvest. Seed starting isn’t just for spring – you can start fall crops indoors, too.
I Killed the First Seedlings I Tried to Grow
Back when I was young mom in the suburbs, I tried my hand at growing my own seedlings. I’d helped my mom back on the farm for years, but it’s a little different when you tackle things yourself, and it was around 10 years since I’d worked regularly with mom.
I carefully started a couple trays of seedlings under a grow light in the basement. It was exciting to watch them sprout and grow.
When they got a little bigger, I put them outside on a nice day. Then I got distracted with the kids are forgot about them. At the end of the day, I went to check on my poor seedlings, and they were cooked.
Thankfully my technique has improved dramatically since then, and we now grow hundreds of healthy seedlings each year. I’ll show you how to do it, too.

Getting Ready for the Garden
It’s Time to Get Growing
You can start dozens of seedlings in just a small amount of space, and be on your way to putting healthy, quality food on your table.
